I’m Summer Stevenson, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) based in New York, and I’m thrilled to share a bit about my journey, my philosophy, and the mission behind my practice.
WHERE IT ALL BEGAN
From Passion to Purpose: Empowering Change Through Understanding
Growing up in a diverse community, I always had a passion for understanding people and their stories. From a young age, I was drawn to the intricacies of human behavior and the emotional experiences that shape our lives. This curiosity led me to pursue a degree in psychology, where I gained foundational knowledge about mental health, therapeutic techniques, and the importance of empathy in counseling.

After earning my Bachelor’s degree, I continued my education and obtained a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. This advanced training provided me with the skills needed to help individuals navigate their mental health challenges. My academic journey was deeply enriching, but it was the hands-on experience I gained through internships and practical training that truly ignited my passion for therapy.
I have had the privilege of working in various settings, including community mental health centers, private practices, and schools, where I gained valuable insights into the diverse needs of clients. Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the transformative power of therapy, and it has fueled my commitment to providing compassionate, personalized care to those seeking support.
